Sony’s State of Play makes a return this week, and after April’s Final Fantasy XVI-focused event, this latest edition of the company’s PlayStation showcases is expected to be a big one. A State of Play during Not-E3 season usually contains some major reveals and announcements, and this one will focus on what’s next for Sony’s PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2 platforms.

The PlayStation State of Play will run for more than an hour, beginning at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET on May 24, and it will be available to watch on the official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels.

What to expect

What we do know is that Sony has some big games in development, and after Final Fantasy XVI launches on June 22 for PS5, all eyes will be on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac, and possibly details on its Wolverine game. Spider-Man 2 has been rumored to be gearing up for a September launch, and the PlayStation Showcase will likely be the best event in which to make an official release date announcement.
