It remains just how meta and full of references Blackfirewall_ will be, but developer Naraven Games certainly seems to be positioning its “first-person tragicomic adventure” as The Stanley Parable but set inside a smartphone. The title has been confirmed for a PS5, PS4 launch on 30th January 2023, and a new trailer above focuses on the gameplay.

With a chatty commentator following your every move, you’ll solve lots of puzzles within the confines of a mobile phone and meet a load of characters along the way. “You are the update assistant. Solve wacky puzzles to counter the update and save the chatty operating system OS9 from deletion. The fate of the System is in your hands,” the YouTube description warns.
